  • Definition: Okenite is a mineral species from the silicate group composed of hydrated calcium silicate. The crystals can reach up to 4 cm3. The okenite is silky white to pearly in color, there are specimens of bright green, blue, mauve colors, given as coming from India or China which are artificially colored pieces. Okenite is transformed into wollastonite by heating.
